In this timeline, I explore the history of Mass Incarceration through the lens of Ava DuVernay’s Netflix documentary 13TH. She takes us from the 13 amendment, which allowed criminals to ┬ábe enslaved, to the current problems of racism and the prison industrial complex. It’s a film well worth the time it takes to watch.
